ALBERTA INDOOR 4X RACING A CCA affiliated cycling club (Airdrie BMX Assoc.) is operating a large BMX & 4X racecourse in an arena building, located a half hour west of Calgary. The indoor dirt course has an overall length of almost 1,000 feet, with four straights (lots of big ‘jumps & bumps'), three high corners, and an automatic starting gate. Mountain Bikers have their own separate race class (4X), and get this; the race fee is only 10 Bucks! The building is a very large, modern, heated, multi-purpose arena facility. It has elevated seating for ~ 2,000 people, a food concession, public washrooms, and a large parking lot out front. The building is open for pre-race practise and registration on Saturday mornings at 11:00am. Registration closes at 12:30pm, and racing starts at 1:15pm. Local races will be held every Saturday through to March 19th `05.
